I qualified as Classical Piano Teacher by the CONSMUPA Conservatory of Oviedo (Spain) and I have been teaching piano for more than 20 years to both children and adults in schools and privately both in Spain and the UK. As a performer and songwriter, also holding a Diploma in Music Performance & Production for keyboards by the London Centre of Contemporary Music (London), I have a wide experience in the use of keyboard techniques and arrangements in all contemporary styles having learnt from and played with some of the most influential session keyboardists of the industry across the world.
I deliver a holistic approach to piano playing ensuring that lessons provide the necessary tools for any individual to be able to practice independently at home between lessons based on a clear understanding of the theory behind every concept being learnt and a self-evaluation approach to personal technique and how to progress at every stage.
Preparation for exams are also provided.
My students will benefit from unique approaches to piano teaching such as:
- Individualised first assessment (free on first interview covering existing skills and knowledge as well as transforming goals and aspirations into clear learning objectives)
- Exhaustive approach to piano technique covering: hand and body posture, building finger strength and independence; fingering; articulation and relevant exercises such as scales, arpeggios, octaves and beyond.
- Effective studying techniques and tools to extend piece knowledge such as formal analysis and improvisation.
I also have QTS with an specialism in Music and hold an updated DBS.
